Eurythmy

Eurythmy is a movement art. Through eurythmic movement speech and music can be made visual. Thus can speech, like poetry, or music be experienced in a whole other way.

Every sound, music or linguistic, has its own energie, its own feeling and quality. You can make these experienceable with an instrument, your mouth, or through movement. Each character, note and interval has its own gesture, based on its own energy. Do you connect these gestures and make them fluently, then you have visual speech/language or music.

Making these movements with your body does help you experience the individual quality of the character or note and helps you deal with these qualities. Thus eurythmy can support development as human, why it is taught in Waldorf education. Beside that it can also work on a therapeutic level, then it’s called eurythmic therapy.
