Thoughts and objects (1)
Physical objects around us influence our thinking, our emotions and our will. I don’t mean this in an indirect way, through sight, sounds, touch or any other physical sensory organ. I mean in a direct way.
Our astral body/soul surrounds us, it is our aura. Within this aura are our non-physical thoughts, emotions and will. They are like a sort of colourful cloud for the clairvoyant eye, not physical colours, but the way they behave, their quality, can be described by colours.
For our purpose we use the cloud image, even though they are more detailed than clouds.
What happens when such a cloud encounters objects around it. That is depending on the way the object came to be. Some objects are transparent for the soul, and it goes right through it. (I got curious, below a list of some objects*). Others hamper it, or block it all together.
Where the soul goes through, there’s not much influence, maybe not at all, of the object on the soul. But where it doesn’t go through, that’s the interesting part. Those objects shape our thoughts, our emotions and our will. For example: the building around you has probably right corners, from floor to wall, between walls and between wall and ceiling.
If you imagine a thought cloud flying around and above (and through) your head, somewhat guided by the wall, but then hitting such a right corner. That thought is stopped dead in its tracks. That’s one reason anthroposophic buildings have those special shapes. (I wrote about that earlier. Oh, only in Dutch. Comment if you want an English one)
The same is for objects around us; a drinking glass, a smartphone or pc, a (food) packaging, the chair or couch you’re sitting on, clutter. Clothing.
Especially modern materials and processed materials are non-transparent, so they influence our thoughts, emotions and will very much.
List of objects I tested. Nota Bene: I tested this not rigorously, and might here and there be confused by it being transparent for the soul or for the etheric body.
Soul-transparent objects
plant based plastics
a ceramic mug
bricks
water
cotton fabric
metal
paper (till a certain thickness)
Non soul-transparent objects
glass
concrete
wool fabric
oil based plastics
coatings/paint on metals or wood
Depending on thickness, use, treatment, shape:
wood
This last makes me curious to keep researching. What if an object made of wood is sort of transparent, but the screws or nails aren’t, because of maybe a coating. Are those than as a sort of sharp points in the thoughts in our aura?
Crystals are transparent, but have a certain glow in them. The same is true for artistic shaped metal, like eurhythmy rods.
